We started off the month with some time in Malawi for rest, dentist appointments, getting malaria medicine and other things we can't get in Moz.The Zomba Mountain waterfalls are beautiful! How refreshing.Elijah ponders which crystals to buy for several bucks. Many men havest wood on the mountain top and take the long trek down to sell the wood. How do they do it!?One last card game.On one trip to the bush they show us a green delicacy they pick and cook. The family is going to feast tonight! And if you really want to spice it up, tear the wings off locusts and add them to the meal! For about 6 dollars you can have your custom made bed.Ahh! It's actually pretty comfortable. Of course, I'd want some protection from the mosquitoes! My friend, Moniz, woke up at midnight to see this spitting cobra slither past his bed.The rains started in December.Water flows everywhere! Thankfully we've added some small barriers to keep the rain from swamping our yard.As we travel out to the bush, we wonder how the rain has affected their well digging projects. One church had quickly built a shelter over their 18 foot deep well so that the sides would not cave in. They'll continue when it gets dryer next year. This is an example of what the church will do next year to make and burn bricks for the exterior wall of their well. The rains stalled their current efforts. They are very grateful for all the tools and help received that they will also be able to bless others with next year!
